Here is how the televoters ranked the songs;
|6||Bosnia & Herzegovina||151|
A very narrow win for Azerbaijan over Sweden and Greece and the U.K. doing better than they did in the combined vote. Once again ballads did poorly with Austria and Slovenia really suffering.
When you look at the juries, things get even more interesting.
|11||Bosnia & Herzegovina||90|
Italy are the runaway jury favourite, with eventual winner Azerbaijan coming in a distant second. The result of the U.K. and Russia are bound to get a lot of comment.
Here's a table showing the songs rated by how much higher the juries rated the songs.
|6||Bosnia & Herzegovina||11||6||-5|
Some might be surprised to see that Ireland did better with juries (6th) than on the televote (10th).
Interestingly if the old system of having 100% televote in the semi-final and letting the public choose 9 finalists and the juries picked the 10th, it would have changed the songs in the final. In semi one Armenia and Norway would have made the final because of the televote, at the expense of Serbia and Switzerland. Interestingly, Lithuania wouldn't have made the Top 10 on the televote (it finished 11th) but would get the jury wildcard as it won the jury vote. Azerbaijan, which ended up winning the contest was second to Lithuania in the jury vote and 2nd to Grece in the televote and combined vote. Surprisingly Malta and (6th) and more predictably San Marino (8th) did much better with juries
In semi-final two, Belarus would have made the final after finishing 9th in the televote at the expense of Estonia which only managed 13th in the semi. Israel, which many thought had made the Top 10 with televoters, only came 11th.
Bizarrely while in the final juries gave Ireland a better placing, in the semi, it was televoters (6th) who rated Jedward higher than juries (10th). It's more clear than ever that the draw is have a major impact on how the public votes.
